The Zaans Museum and Jimmy Nelson Foundation are proud to announce the final stop of the traveling exhibition Ode aan Nederland, meaning Ode to the Netherlands.
This breathtaking exhibition brings the captivating work of artist Jimmy Nelson to life, inspired by his book Between the Sea and the Sky.
Exhibition Opening: Saturday, 28 September – Meet Jimmy Nelson
Jimmy Nelson will be at the museum on Saturday, 28 September to officially open the exhibition and sign copies of his book Between the Sea and the Sky. It will be a festive afternoon where you’ll get an exclusive preview of the exhibition, meet Jimmy Nelson, have your book signed, and be styled by fashion duo Broke Ass Millionaires. You can also enjoy a drink at the Museum Café or get creative by making your own artwork with Zaans patterns on paper.
Reciprocity Program
The heart of the exhibition lies in its reciprocity program, which includes the Jimmy Nelson Foundation donating 20 artworks to the 20 communities that participated in the “Between the Sea and the Sky” project. This initiative stands as a testament to Jimmy Nelson’s commitment to giving back to the communities that inspire his work. By giving back, a meaningful bond is nurtured between art, culture, and the communities, underscoring the significance of community engagement and collaboration.
