The Jimmy Nelson Foundation is looking for two enthusiastic board members, a financial and a secretary, who can support us in our growth and ambitions. Do you have strategic experience and networks, including profit/non-profit knowledge,  knowledge of management, finance and/or legal; we would love to hear from you.

The Jimmy Nelson Foundation was founded in 2016 to bring people together from all corners of the planet. Our dream is a culturally diverse and healthy planet with respect for each other. Better intercultural dialogue and understanding are essential to ensure a prosperous future for our species and planet. The foundation helps to safeguard the world’s cultural and natural heritage for future generations and inspires humanity to create a deeper connection with their own cultural identity and each other. THE SUPERVISORY BOARD

As board member of the Jimmy Nelson Foundation you are responsible for the supervision of the policy, strategy implementation and evaluation to achieve the foundation’s goals and responsibilities. The Executive Board reports to you on a quarterly basis and together you work on fulfilling the vision and mission.

PROFILE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SUPERVISORY BOARD

-As board member you are enthusiastic and involved in the mission and vision of the Jimmy Nelson Foundation;

-You bring strategic and managerial experience, including a profit/non-profit network, with background in finance and/or legal.

-The Board functions as a team: members are complementary to each other in expertise as well as in their team roles;

-You have the ability to endorse the objectives of the foundation and support the Executive Board in achieving the agreed strategy, together with the ability and attitude to assist them with advice and act as a sounding board;

-Ability to provide advice and supervision in a team context, whilst keeping the balance between involvement, sense of responsibility and independent attitude.

This is an unpaid position, given the nature and objective of the organization. Nevertheless the task requires its members to provide sufficient time to carry out its duties. The Board meets 4 times a year, although additional time might be occasionally necessary at foundation events and in meetings with external stakeholders. You can become part of this beautiful and purposeful movement where interaction and the exchange of knowledge between all kinds of people is at the core of our mission. In exchange for your commitment, you will be at the center of a fast-growing foundation with international reach and impact. BACKGROUND FOUNDATION

The Jimmy Nelson Foundation is an ANBI accredited charity organisation and is located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The Foundation works in close collaboration, but independently with Jimmy Nelson B.V. Jimmy Nelson B.V. is a limited liability company in which Jimmy Nelson has a majority stake. The company’s main activities are the production of art, publishing and talks. Jimmy Nelson B.V. periodically supports the foundation with personnel and finances. The foundation never commercially supports Jimmy Nelson B.V. either with personnel or financially.
